True to the tradition, black and white are closely connected. Friesian horses were always shown in white harness in order to accentuate the beauty of this breed. By the middle of the last century, Friesian horses mainly were used for the field work to earn the farmer’s keep. A few times a year, the farmer could display the show-quality of his horse at specially-organized events. In order to distinguish between a work day and a show day, people made use of a white show harness. This harness radiates purity, nobility and luxury and, moreover, strikes the lines of this breed.
